Position Description:

Job Summary:
The Children Director will oversee the Children ministry and supervise children from nursery to grade 6.

Position Description:
* Help children to understand and implement God’s Word into all areas of their lives.
* Strategize, and implement ministry programs that are Christ-centered.
* Recruit, train and manage Children ministry co-workers.
* Assist parents in the role of raising godly children.
* Collaborate with pastors, staff and other ministry teams to plan programs and worship services.

Qualifications:
Baccalaureate degree in Christian education or elementary education or child development, previous experience in Children ministry, love, passion, and calling for Children ministry. Candidate should be well-versed in the Bible, energetic, compassionate, disciplined, good at communication skills and able to engage the children and their parents to grow in the knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ. Must be proficient in English, and preferably can also speak Mandarin.

Detailed Responsibilities:

• Design ministry guidelines and overall curriculum for Children ministry
  
• Lead/teach in Children Worship, Sunday School, Friday program and other activities as needed
  
• Build and lead a Children ministry Team with the Children ministry Deacon/Deaconess to serve the children at church.
  
• Recruit, train, supervise and coordinate Coworkers for Children ministry
  
• Select, evaluate, revise, design and monitor curriculum for Children ministry including but not limited to
• Children Worship, Sunday School, Nursery, Preschool, Friday Program, Vacation Bible School and other events and activities.
  
• Work with Youth Minister to facilitate a smooth transition of children to the Youth Fellowship
  
• Monitor facility needs and safety of environment for Children ministry
  
• Provide general care including home visits to children and their family as needed
  
• Communicate plan and needs of Children ministry with parents, Church Council, and Congregation
  
• Coordinate the activities of Children ministry with activities of Adult, English, Youth and other Church Ministries
  
• Present an annual report to the church
  
• Oversee budget and expenses of Children ministry
  
• Update children and parent database
  
• Attend regular staff meetings

Supervision and Accountability:

The Children Director will work under the supervision of the Senior Pastor, unless otherwise designated by the Board of Elders. Annual Review will be conducted by the Senior Pastor and reported to the Elder Board.

CGCM is a non-denominational church located west of Boston with 3 separate Sunday worship services for 1) Chinese adults (Mandarin/Cantonese), 2) English adults and 3) Youth.
